Amagi receives Frost & Sullivan’s Global New Product Innovation Award for CLOUDPORT

Amagi, a global leader in cloud-based technology for TV and OTT broadcasters, today announced that they are the winners of the 2018 Frost & Sullivan Global New Product Innovation Award for Cloud-Based Playout Solutions for Media Industry for its groundbreaking cloud-based platform CLOUDPORT. CLOUDPORT enables broadcasters to manage playout and distribute content globally over the cloud allowing them to optimize workflows and minimize costs by eliminating capital-intensive infrastructure.

Amagi has deployments in over 40 countries and delivers more than 150 channels to audiences globally. Amagi clients include industry heavyweights such as Turner Broadcasting, Scripps Networks, Discovery Communications’ DSPORT, VICELAND, and ‘Digital First’ companies - Cinedigm, Tastemade, TYT Network and more.

Through the New Product Innovation Awards, Frost & Sullivan aims to recognize companies across a wide range of markets seeking innovative technology, superior leadership, strategic product development, and customer service. Participants in the awards are benchmarked by Frost & Sullivan’s industry analyst team by measuring performance through secondary research and primary interviews with participants. By recognizing excellence in new products, companies, and individuals Frost & Sullivan intends to drive innovation in the global economy.

“Amagi’s recognition for the Global New Product Innovation Award for CLOUDPORT is well-deserved,” said Swetha R Krishnamoorthi, Senior Research Analyst, and Vidya S Nath, Research Director at Frost & Sullivan.

“There has been a paucity of innovation in this market; there are few emerging solutions that cater to large scale broadcaster requirements for managing workflows across multiscreen,” said Nath.

“CLOUDPORT stood out amongst its competitors because it helps broadcasters address challenges of space, time and cost when it comes to playout operations,” added Krishnamoorthi. “The solution leverages new age technologies such as artificial intelligence, enabling automation and scalability without the associated cost increase. It’s a great solution that both TV networks and OTT platforms globally need to be aware of.”

“We are very proud and honored to receive this global award,” said Deepakjit Singh, CEO of Amagi. “With so much new technology coming out in and around the TV broadcast space, we feel quite accomplished to be recognized as one of the top innovators by Frost & Sullivan.”

The award was presented at Frost & Sullivan’s Excellence in Best Practices Awards banquet in London on June 19th.
